Cable Lubricants (Metal/Plastic Lubricants)
Genesee Polymers manufactures cable lubricants that are primarily used in the automotive industry. These lubricants are specifically designed to provide good metal on plastic lubrication for applications where a metal cable moves on a plastic pulley or inside a plastic housing. The table below shows the four products manufactured by GPC that are recommended for this purpose. They are listed in order of increasing viscosity-the main product variable.

GP-558 is a conformal coating for the encapsulation of electronic components. GP-558 is applied by dipping, spraying, flow coating or brushing, followed by heat curing at 110º C (230º F) for one hour. The resulting clear, elastomeric film shows excellent heat stability and flexibility, providing protection from moisture, weathering and vibration. GP-558 is a ready to use product requiring no curing additives.

Paintable Release Agents for Metal/Plastic/Rubber Parts
Genesee Polymers manufactures several release agents suitable for molding parts that will to be painted in subsequent operations. These are especially recommended for die casting applications. All of these products are devolatilized to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to trace quantities.
