Description

GP-530 is a 100% active, modified silicone copolymer designed to provide lubrication between plastic and metal, or rubber and metal surfaces. The presence of ionic-alkyl groups in GP-530 provides a high degree of affinity to metal surfaces, therefore increasing lubricating and release characteristics at the metal/plastic or rubber interface. Because GP-530 is a silicone product, it exhibits excellent heat stability and will not break down or carbonize at normal operating conditions.

Applications

The primary application of GP-530 is as a metal/plastic lubricant such as a steel cable inside a plastic housing. GP-530 can also be used as a lubricant and/or release agent for the following industries:

  • Rubber Molding
  • Urethane Molding
  • Epoxy Molding
  • Textiles

Processing and Safety Guidelines

The silicone polymer used in GP-530 contains a dimethyl silicone structure, which can cause paint and adhesion problems, if not properly cleaned from molded parts. GP-530 may be diluted with aliphatic or aromatic solvents when desired.
