Description

GP-955 is a 30% silicone solids emulsion of a novel silicone wax copolymer product. The silicone wax component forms a colorless, dry film on substrates and is recommended for evaluation as a lubricant, water repellent, and anti-blocking agent. GP-955 is a stable emulsion of silicone wax in a water carrier and may be readily diluted with hard or soft water. The silicone wax component of GP-955 contains no dimethyl silicone and will not cause orange peel, fisheyes, or similar effects associated with conventional silicones. Some of the special properties of GP-955 are listed below:

  • Very Stable Emulsion
  • Dilutable in Hard or Soft Water
  • Dries to a Continuous Wax Film
  • Acts as a Rust Protective Coating
  • Unique Silicone Wax Polymer Provides Excellent Metal on Metal Lubrication
  • Acts as a Rubber and Plastic Mold Release Agent and Lubricant
  • Acts as an Antiblocking Coating when Applied to Uncured Rubber Products

Processing and Safety Guidelines

GP-955 should be mixed gently prior to use to insure uniformity. GP-955 may be used as is, or after dilution with water - depending on the particular use. Dilutions may be made by simply mixing with water. The order of addition is not important. Very dilute mixtures require the addition of bactericides if long-term storage is intended. GP-955 may also be mixed with a variety of other water-based coatings, emulsions and latices. For safety requirements, refer to Safety Data Sheet.

Packaging/Handling/Storage

GP-955 is supplied in 5-gallon (40 lbs.) pails, 55-gallon (440 lbs.) drums and 330-gallon (2640 lbs.) totes. Protect from freezing and store below 100° F.
