Description

GP-218 is a 100% active polypropylene oxide modified dimethylpolysiloxane block copolymer, which is designed to improve the quality and performance of solvent-based, baked on industrial finishes. The combination of polysiloxane and pendant polypropylene oxide segments provides excellent lubricity and low surface tension, which improves the wetting, leveling and flow of solvent-based coatings.  GP-218 contains stable ≡ Si – C ≡ bonds between silicone and polyol blocks and exhibits excellent resistance to hydrolysis.

Applications

GP-218 is recommended for evaluation in polyurethane foam systems – as a profoamer additive. Other applications include, textile and thread lubricants, internal lubricant for plastics and base material for aqueous defoaming agents.

Processing and Safety Guidelines

GP-218 has been formulated to be compatible with solvent-based coatings and adhesives.  GP-218 should be handled with all of the precautions required in handling any industrial chemical product. Consult the Safety Data Sheet for additional details.

Packaging/Handling/Storage

GP-218 is supplied in 5-gallon (40 lbs.) pails, 55-gallon (440 lbs.) drums and 330-gallon (2640 lbs.) totes. No special handling or storage is required.
