Description
GP-905 is a 100% active polypropylene oxide (PO) modified dimethylpolysiloxane block copolymer which is designed to improve the quality and performance of solvent-based, baked-on industrial finishes. The combination of polysiloxane and polypropylene oxide segments provides excellent lubricity and low surface tension which improves wetting, leveling and flow of solvent-based coatings. GP-905 contains Si-O-C bonds between silicone and polyol blocks and may be affected by hydrolysis in some aqueous systems. Some of the special properties of GP-905 are listed below:
- Low Surface Tension
- Excellent Lubricity
- Thermal Stability

Applications
In addition to a coating additive, GP-905 is also recommended for evaluation in polyurethane foam systems - as a profoamer additive. Other applications include textile and thread lubricants, internal lubricant for plastics and base material for aqueous defoaming agents. Other applications include the following:
- Thread Lubricant
- Pigment Dispersant
- Wetting Agent-Solvent Systems
- Leveling & Flow Control Agent-Solvent Coatings
- Urethane Bubble Release Additive (Coatings)
- Release Agent
- Antifoam - Aqueous Systems
- Polyurethane Foam Additive (Profoamer)
Processing and Safety Guidelines
GP-905 has been formulated to be compatible with solvent based coatings and adhesives. GP-905 has a very low order of toxicity, but should still be handled with all precautions common to the use of any industrial chemical product. Consult Safety Data Sheet for additional details.
