Description

GP-670 is an Ethyl Alcohol - based solution of Methyl Silicone Resin. The resin forms a solid release coating when GP-670 is applied to substrates and solvent is allowed to evaporate. Film formation occurs at room temperature and results in a durable, weather resistant, non-stick surface after solvent evaporation, which normally occurs within a few minutes. Some of the special properties of GP-670 are listed below:

  • Excellent Film-Forming Properties
  • Weather and Heat Resistant films
  • Water Resistant (after application)
  • Fast Evaporating Solvent

Applications

GP-670 is suggested for use in a variety of applications. The following are a few examples:

  • Masonry Water Repellant
  • Leather and fabric treating agents
  • Mold Release Agent
  • Binder for high temperature paints and coatings

Processing and Safety Guidelines

Best performance is attained when GP-670 is applied to substrates by spraying, making sure that a wet continuous film covers the substrate, followed by allowing the carrier solvent to evaporate. Some additional improvement in durability will occur, in mold release applications when the treated mold is heated to 80 - 100° C, for one hour prior to beginning molding operation. GP-670 is flammable, because of the Isopropyl Alcohol carrier, and must be handled accordingly. Use with adequate ventilation, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. Consult Safety Data Sheet for details.

Packaging/Handling/Storage

GP-670 is supplied in 5-gallon (35 lbs.) pails and 55-gallon (390 lbs.) drums. Store only in areas designated for Flammable Materials. Do not store above 90° F. Keep containers tightly sealed.
