Applications

The Silicon Hydride groups of GP-535 provide a reactive site, allowing reaction with a variety of materials containing vinyl groups or with hydroxyl functional polysiloxanes in combination with heat or metal catalysts.  Other applications include:

  • Room Temperature Curing Silicone rubber Component
  • Cross-linking Agent for Vinyl Cured Silicones
  • Water Proofing Agent for Textiles, Paper and Leather
  • End-Blocker for Silicone Fluid Synthesis

Processing and Safety Guidelines

GP-535 reacts with water, alcohols or other reactive hydrogen compounds, to liberate hydrogen gas.  Since the hydrogen is Flammable and also will cause pressure build-up in closed containers, use all proper precautions when handling these products.

Alkaline materials will cause a rapid release of hydrogen, when in contact with GP-535, and must be avoided.

GP-535 is a flammable liquid and may cause skin irritation.  Consult Safety Data Sheet for additional safety information.
