Description

GP-863 is a high performance lubricant for use in a wide variety of Aluminum casting applications as well as some Magnesium and Zinc applications.  GP-863 exhibits unusually good wetting properties up to 900°F.  This exceptionally good high temperature wetting means that GP-863 cools hotspots faster which leads to shorter cycle times and less solder buildup.  GP-863 is also specifically designed to give a good surface finish that is free of staining or lubricant buildup that can cause a loss of dimensional accuracy.

Applications

GP-863 has shown superior results in a wide range of Aluminum die casting applications as well as some Magnesium and Zinc applications.  Whereas most die casting lubricants begin to fail at die temperatures above 700°F, GP-863 continues to perform up to 900°F.  This aspect of the product makes it especially useful for thick-walled, heavy weight castings such as automobile power train components.

Processing and Safety Guidelines

As with any contaminant, it is recommended that GP-863 residues should be removed from surfaces prior to painting or bonding for best results.  However, if removal is not complete, residue of GP-863 is not known to cause fisheyes, orange peel or similar effects.  For safety information, refer  to Safety Data Sheet.

GP-863 is supplied in 5-gallon (40 lbs.), 55-gallon (440 lbs.) and 330-gallon (2640 lbs.) totes.  Do not freeze.  Do not store above 100° F.
